I. Business Overview
Custody services for private asset management products mean that ICBC, as a custodian, shall provide financial services such as asset custody, capital clearing, accounting, asset valuation, investment supervision, and information disclosure for asset management programs established by fund management companies and their subsidiaries, securities companies and their asset management subsidiaries, and futures companies and their asset management subsidiaries, in accordance with the regulatory requirements including the Management Measures for Private Asset Management Business of Securities and Futures Institutions, the Management Regulations for the Operation of Private Asset Management Programs of Securities and Futures Institutions, as well as the agreements of asset management contracts.
II. Target Customers
Fund management companies and their subsidiaries, securities companies and their asset management subsidiaries, and futures companies and their asset management subsidiaries that establish private asset management products, and natural persons and legal entities who meet the requirements of qualified investors.
III. Scope of Services
1.Asset safekeeping: Open funds account and securities account to ensure the completeness, independency and security of entrusted assets.
2.Capital clearing: Complete capital clearing and delivery & collection of securities in investments with entrusted assets timely and accurately, according to the manager’s transfer instruction.
3.Accounting: Keep complete and compliant accounting records of entrusted assets, prepare accounting statements on a regular basis and regularly cross-check accounts with the manager to ensure the compliance and accuracy of accounting and financial records.
4.Asset valuation: Valuate the market value of entrusted assets regularly and cross-check the valuation results with the manager to ensure the asset holder has a timely and accurate knowledge of value fluctuations.
5.Investment supervision: Supervise the investment and operation of entrusted assets according to asset management contracts.
6.Information disclosure: Prepare statements and reports of entrusted assets timely and accurately, in accordance with regulations and asset management contracts.
7.Value-added service: Provide value-added custodian services such as performance evaluation, tailored supervision, tailored statements, custodian internet banking and direct system connection, based on the personalized needs of trustors and managers.
IV. Advantages
1.Specialized custody service: ICBC is the earliest commercial bank engaged in custody services for private asset management products. ICBC officially launched the custody service for asset management programs of securities companies in 2005, was the first to launch the custody service for the single asset management business of fund management companies (formerly the asset management business for specific single customers) in 2008, and was in the first batch of institutions to launch the custody service for the assembled asset management business of fund management companies (formerly the asset management business for specific multiple customers) in 2009.
